Everyone's talking about "sustainability". It is a term that is becoming more and more fashionable and important, but does anyone know how sustainable an overhaul is?
An overhaul is one of the earliest forms of "green entrepreneurship". After all, fewer raw materials are used. When a product is overhauled, we reuse and recycle, the parts to be overhauled do not end up on the dump and do not have to be manufactured again, and it generates less waste which also has its advantages. An overhaul is en excellent alternative to new: it is less expensive, more sustainable and an overhauled product is constructed using the latest, often modified, parts, which means it always performs the same if not better.

The unique aspect of Autrans is that we have built up more than 30 years of expertise in the field of automatic and manual gearboxes. Our customer is the focus in everything we think and do. Speed, parts in stock and fulfilling promises are only a few basic elements to help the end user on his way as soon as possible. Autrans is always seeking to improve. Since its incorporation in 1981, Autrans Parts and Service B.V. has developed into the largest overhaul specialist in the Netherlands, with a lot of contacts in Europe. Autrans can be found in Lunteren and Tilburg. The company realises 3,000 overhauls a year in the Netherlands, and 5,000 units with its European partners. The Transmission Parts and Service company supplies 150,000 parts in Europe (and slightly beyond) each year. It employs 40 enthusiastic members of staff in the Netherlands.

Torque converter
A torque converter is a clutch that functions on the basis of liquid.
A torque converter consists of three basic parts. One impeller is attached to the motor (pump), one impeller is attached to the transmission (rotor) and in the middle is a special impeller (stator) to reverse the flow of liquid.
Torque converters often also have a lock-up to connect the pumo and rotor mechanically, thereby avoiding loss of liquid.
Torque converter revision
Autrans can revise any torque converter, provided that it is still revisable.
We cut the torque converter open on the lathe, clean it and replace all parts subject to wear, e.g., bearings and liners.
The torque converter is then welded shut on the welding robot, it is checked under high pressure for leaks, after which it is blasted and then balanced.
Stock
Autrans has an extensive stock of torque converters. If we do not have the type of torque converter you need in stock we can mostly deliver within 24 hours.
